Birth Doula Services
My birth doula fee includes the following:
A free consultation/interview to get to know one another. This also allows us to be sure that our birthing philosophies are similar.
At least 2 prenatal visits where we will further discuss birth wishes and go through specific details.
An information package that includes a birth wishes outline, a list of what to pack, a brochure on when to go to the hospital, reference papers on postpartum planning, and more.
I will be available to you by phone and/or e-mail 24/7 if you have any questions or concerns about your pregnancy or labour.
Once active labour has commenced, I offer continuous, in-person labour support at home and/or at the hospital.
I will stay with you and your baby until about 1 ½ hours after delivery to assist with initiating breastfeeding and help you get settled.
I have an excellent back up doula with similar philosophies and understanding of birth. She will be available to you if I am unable to come, or stay for reasons beyond my control.
I will come by for a postpartum visit about 1 week after your baby is born to see you and answer any new questions you have.
I will bring a CD copy of any pictures I take from the birth (with your permission).
I have many reference books available in my library. If you have questions and would like to refer to any of these books, you are welcome to do so.
The fee for this package is $600.
I am also available to travel to homes and hospitals outside of Edmonton with a nominal charge for the cost of gas.
I encourage you to meet with me for a consultation to discuss options, should this fee be outside your means.
